Reinventing corporate food service with technology and purpose.

When Shea Coakley co-founded LeanBox in 2013, the corporate food service industry was stagnant. Break rooms were filled with vending machines dispensing processed, unhealthy options. Shea saw an opportunity to use technology to transform the entire category.

LeanBox deployed automated fresh-food kiosks across Greater Boston offices, giving employees access to nutritious meals, snacks, and beverages right where they work. The company grew into a category-defining brand and became a blueprint for how technology could transform workplace dining.

From breakroom brews to craft coffee at scale.

Shea Coakley co-founded Grind Coffee & Back Bay Roasters in 2015 to power LeanBox's coffee program and expand into a standalone brand. What started as a way to improve office coffee quality became a New England craft coffee operation serving corporate clients across the region.

Back Bay Roasters & Brewers brought specialty-grade coffee and cold brew to offices that had previously settled for commodity products, proving that premium quality could be delivered at workplace scale. The brand demonstrated Shea's approach to building consumer products: focus on quality, accessibility, and genuine improvement to the daily experience.
